Healthy family

A healthy family ìs not a perfect family. No one is perfect and no family is perfect. However, as sons of God, we move on towards being perfected - which speaks of a maturing in Christ and not human perfection.

A family is healthy because it grows in maturity as each member learns to be a conduit of grace - relating to the other in ways that glorify God.

God is teaching us to live honourably and to honour those He has placed in our lives. God's grace flows through others to us.

As we position ourselves in God-honouring ways, grace others have for us is multiplied in our lives.

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honour to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12

Faithful stewards

August - September

Let there be no confusion concerning the matter. Life is not just about going to heaven. God is looking for faithfulness. He rewards stewards, those who take their responsibility of administering that which is His, seriously. God also deals harshly with those who are casual about this very important task. He will not entrust the important matters of the Kingdom to those who hold on tightly to everything He allows to come through their hands.

Outstretched arms and hands that hold lightly are signs of a faithful heart. We are being trained. Our capacity to be a blessing is being expanded. Those who are faithful over little, will be entrusted with much.

May we hear His proclamation over us to be, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

We are on a journey toward maturity, as we become accurate representatives of our Father here on earth. It is a process of letting go of the "self-life" and living by the Spirit of God, Who produces His life in us.

We understand that all we have is His and that He is training us to be faithful administrators of His grace. As His ambassadors, we are entrusted to be stewards of all the resources that God allows to pass through our hands. Learning to be faithful over little is the only way we can be appointed over much.

The process involves God's nature and character being formed in us, as we rule in the areas God has placed us. Sons know that they can trust their Father as their provider, and are free to administer His resources as He wills.

God will only commit the serious issues of responsibility in the kingdom to faithful sons. May we be found to be faithful.

Elementary things - Foundations

There is an entire generation that needs to be grounded in the basics of life as a son of God in the earth. Even the popular teachings in the ‘feel good’ church have attempted to appeal to the desires of carnal man. The result is that this new generation is obsessed with obtaining more stuff, while remaining poor in the understanding of God's purposes and ways.

These elementary doctrines give us an understanding of our identity, our authority and our destiny. Without these foundations we will be building on shifting sand. Make every effort to deeply understand repentance from dead works, faith toward God, the baptisms, laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgement. Then pass it on as you continue to build on that foundation and go on to maturity.

Elementary things - Baptism

As we deal with baptisms this month, we do so in the context of foundational things. Baptism is meant to result in change and each of the baptisms establish in us foundations of change, from which we will never turn back.

Baptism is the immersion of something into another, so that the thing which is immersed is changed by the thing into which it is baptised.

Unfortunately many have no understanding of these baptisms, that are essential for us to have a solid platform on which to stand, and without which we would be unstable.

God puts a foundation under us, which becomes the basis of the change in our lives; from orphan to son, from being powerless to being powerful, from being isolated to being included in His body and from being dominated by our soul to being led by the Spirit.

Just like the fictional superheroes that were changed by that which they were baptised into at the beginning of their transformation: we enter a transformation into the life of a son of God by the baptisms that are foundational.

Elementary things

Therefore, leaving behind the elementary teachings of Christ, let us continue to be carried along to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead actions, faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permits

- Heb 6:1-3

We are all called to maturity in Christ, but we don’t start off being mature. We cannot go on to maturity if we do not have the right foundations. The elementary doctrines need to be firmly established in our thinking before we can build on them. This is essential, not only for new believers, but also for all mature sons who need to be able to give clarity to those who are learning from them.

Let us go on. Let us build. Let us continue. Not laying again different foundations, but having these foundations firmly established.

As we have entered an exciting season as a spiritual house, we now have raised up spiritual fathers to speak into lives of spiritual sons that are eager to grow. Many of these fathers have agreed to watch over the souls of others and serve them with the authority God has given them. Each overseer must be able to teach others and instruct them in these elementary doctrines.

Let us grow. Let us reproduce. Let us be mature.

Aligned to divine order

We often say that God is in control. What we are beginning to understand is the brilliance of God, who designs all of creation to ultimately fulfil His purpose. Every single detail is worked out and all things work together for our good as the sons of God, who He has called according to His purpose. We can fully rely on His supremacy in all things and know that He is absolutely and always, trustworthy.

Bearing this in mind, we can deal with our soul’s compulsion to be in control - to provide for and protect itself on its own terms. We can fully surrender and put our confidence in our Father. We now have the understanding and wisdom to align with His divine order of things. If we trust in Him and don’t rely on human wisdom, we will never be disappointed. We will always grow in the knowledge of Him and learn to walk in His ways.

Holy Spirit will guide us in all truth. He will teach us His ways. He will empower and enable us to do all that He wants us to do. He will live His life through us. He will produce His life in us. All we have to do is to trust and obey. We need to train our spiritual ears to hear so that we can agree and align with Him

Divine Order

January - February

It is evident from scripture that God lives in a holy community of three. Three is a number of perfection. In this community there is perfect order. In order, authority flows.

God, in His grace, has brought us into this community of three. Not only are we created as spirit beings from the person of God, but we were created to be sons of God. That is the highest position any human can ever have – to be a son of God. We come into this position by being in the Son, Jesus Christ. We are not our own separate identity or another son of God. We are son by being in the Son. Jesus Christ is our identity. He is our head and we are His body.

The order of heaven (as it is in heaven) is made manifest on earth through the body of Christ. For this to happen, the body must be correctly aligned with divine order. This will be reflected on earth in spiritual family, as it is in heaven. There is a Father, there is a Son. This order brings about the flow of authority (on earth as it is in heaven). Each of us has been placed, by the Holy Spirit, in a spiritual family. This is where we are to be sustained, encouraged, admonished and discipled to maturity in Christ. The model God uses is that of fathers reflecting the nature and character of the Father to sons.

This year, we will focus on being correctly aligned with divine order in the household of faith. Our expectation is that we will see greater dimensions of divine authority displayed through the sons of God, in order to be His accurate representation (viceroys) here on the earth, as we are called to be.
